Wild Montana will organize a group hike at the Lincoln Hills Drive Trailhead in Missoula this May.
The Jumbo Saddle Wildflower Walk is an activity where people can go on a walking trip to see the landscapes around Mount Jumbo. The event will be led by Annie Gillespie and Elena Ulev, and the distance of the trip is three miles. The route for the hike will be on mostly level ground with slight inclines. After the walk, the organizers will host a socializing event at the Silver Park Pavilion. The excursion is one edition of the Shining Mountains Chapter’s Spring Into Summer activity.
Wild Montana is an organization that was created in 1958 to help protect local natural areas and improve the community’s appreciation of public lands. The Wilderness Walk series began in 1960 to educate people about local environments and connect those with an appreciation for wild places. The hikes in the series have several difficulty ratings, including Easy, Moderate, Strenuous, and Extremely Strenuous. Dogs are not allowed on the walks.
The Jumbo Saddle Wildflower Walk will be held on Saturday, May 18th at 10:00 am. The party held after the group hike will take place at 12:30 pm. There is no cost to register for the walking program, and registration for the event will open on April 18th.
