Wentzville will once again be celebrating Independence Day on the 4th of July with a parade and fireworks.
The parade will begin at 10:00 am outside the Wentzville Ice Arear 910 Main Plaza Dr. It will proceed along Luetkenhaus Boulevard going south, make a right turn onto West Pearce Boulevard, and disperse at the old City Hall at Allen Street and Pearce.
The parade theme for this year will be “God Bless America”, and everyone may design and enter a float. Awards will go to the top three overall winners, Mayor’s Choice, and first and second place Best-Themed entries. Walkers with the floats will be passing out candy to the kids.
Float entry fees are $20 for City Offices and non-profits, $40 for County Offices and individuals, and $60 for Federal and State Offices and business and organizations. Float registration must be submitted by June 9, otherwise a $10 late fee will be added to the application fee.
Businesses that create their own floats in parades such as this usually place their Logo Design in a prominent place to be sure it can be seen by spectators on both sides of the street.
One member of each float team must attend the Mandatory Meeting at the Wentzville Recreation Center at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, June 21.
Fireworks can be observed over Progress Park beginning around 9:30 pm.
