Wentzville’s Liberty Fest will be held again this year and organizers are gearing up for another year of celebration. The theme this year is “Hail Our American Heritage” and as always, prizes will be awarded at the end of the parade.
Participants in events like these often work with local Print companies to obtain Banners for their float and marching groups. Applications were submitted to Wentzville Parks & Recreation who then provided participants with all the information they need for a safe event including a Safety Checklist that entrants need to read and follow. The checklist includes information for Float vehicles, drivers and riders.
Those participating in the parade will need to attend a mandatory meeting on June 26th at the Progress Park pavilion. The meeting will be held at 6:00pm and there must be at least one representative from the group at the meeting.
First and second place prize winners will be awarded in several categories including Mayor’s Choice and Best Musical entry, chosen by a judging panel. There will also be three winners in the “Overall Winners” category judged on Originality, spirit, use of theme and overall appearance. This prize will also be chosen by a judging panel.
The parade will begin at 10:00am on July 4th. The parade route will begin at Hold High School, head east on Pearce and end at Luecktenhaus Boulevard.
