Dog owners go to groom fest

St. Louis Groom Fest is coming for two days in late April.

Contests will include poodle, other purebreds, abstract runway, wire coats, rescue dog makeover, sporting, salon freestyle, and salon creative.

Some contests are self-explanatory, but the Salon Freestyle will be focused on mixed breed in any trim and any breed trimmed to meet breed standards. The Advanced Salon Creative will focus on color and simple designs.

Most sessions have a $60 registration fee. The exception will be the Rescue Dog Makeover $75 fee, which will go to the rescue organizations providing the dogs.

Friday classes will be Pet Tech from noon to 5:30 pm, and Creative Fun from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, and Saturday will feature creative, training, and trimming tool maintenance classes. On the Sunday, the classes will include Asian Fusion, doodles, coloring, cheap marketing, creative touches, stripping groove, and a discussion on terriers.

Speakers and judges will include Lisa Leady, Misty Gieczys, Alyssa Kassiba, Tiana Walters, Owner and Cassandra Eye, Angela Kumpe, Nick Sklar, and Jessica Uzzetta NCMG (National Certified Master Groomer).

Wentzville vendors selling dog-related items at the Trade Show often pass out Business Cards to interested passers-by.

One day passes are $100, two-day passes are $175, and a one-day trade show pass will be $20. The 2023 St. Louis Groom Fest will be April 29 and 30 at 1522 Swantnerville Drive.
