Located about halfway between Wentzville and Warrenton, Cedar Lakes Cellars in Wright City has announced it will host a nationally known event, the Wicked Wine Run.
Although wine and running don’t seem like an obvious duo, this popular event brings a vast majority of runners who run for the treats at the end of the race. The winery and event center will likely advertise the event using distributed Flyers to encourage local residents to attend and join in the fun.
The 5K race is held at various locations nationwide and for this event, Cedar Lakes Cellars seems like the obvious choice. Runners have two choices they can either compete in a 5K run or a 1K tasting walk. Many runners choose to do both events. The 1K tasking walk will feature wine tastings along the route. Participants must be over the age of 21.
The event will feature prizes for the top three male and female runners as well as prices for the craziest outfits. After the race, participants can enjoy music by Big Rain as well as food and beverages which will be available to purchase.
The event will take place on Saturday, August 13th at 6pm at 11008 Schreckengast Rd in Wright City. Registration begins on June 13th and early registration is encouraged as the prices increase closer to the event. Registration for this event can be found on the organizer’s website.
