For 30 years now, St. Charles County Golden Games have held annual games for adults over the age of 50. The events are held at various venues in the St. Charles County area, which consists of cities like Wentzville, O’Fallon, and Augusta.
Anyone interested in participating this year can register as an individual, double or team on several of the games. Those participating in double or team events could work with a local Print company to obtain matching T-Shirts or hats.
Due to the large variety of competitions available, there is something for every age group and ability. Games include fairly common competitions such as walking, running, swimming, and cycling. For the more unique skills, they offer other options such as shooting, bocce ball, horse shoes, miniature golf, card games, and more.
All games will conclude with a gold, silver, and bronze medal winner announced for the top three of each age group.
Registration is $25 and includes as many events an individual can participate in without conflicting schedules. Additional greens fees will be needed for golfers. Participants will receive a Golden Games T-Shirt and will be able to attend a Kick-Off Banquet which will be held at Old Hickory Golf Club. Spouses or a guest can attend the banquet as well for an additional $5 fee.
The games will be held from May 6 through May 13. Registration begins on March 1 on the organizer’s website. The deadline for registration is April 7. All participants must be at least 50 years of age by April 30, 2017.
