Young people who are St. Peters high school juniors and seniors have an opportunity to apply for a Bank of America program.
This is the 12th year that the bank has offered its Student Leaders program in this region.
Students who are accepted into the program are teamed up with employment opportunities that help them develop the skills and resources that will help them thrive in their chosen careers. The program allows Bank of America to recognize those who have seen a need to serve others outside the classroom, and are working in their communities to help others.
Those who are chosen to participate in the Student Leaders effort work as paid summer interns for nonprofits like Habitat for Humanity, the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, and others in the local area. The are also invited to take part in a leadership summit for students, a weeklong event held in the nation's capital.
The application period for the 2016 program is now open, and runs through January 29, 2016. Further information about the Student Leaders program, the application form, and videos of the 2015 meeting are available on the Bank of America website.
School officials in St. Peters might consider working with a postcard printing company to create cards to mail locally, describing this unique program.
