St. Peters welcomes new eatery

Folks in St. Peters have a new option for food choices, as a new Greek restaurant featuring tangy handheld sandwiches has opened its doors in town.

Entrepreneurs and local officials gathered in February to celebrate the opening of Soulard Gyro. The carryout location focuses on grab-and-go choices, featuring gyros, wraps, kebabs, bowls, and salads. The company focuses on providing quality food at attractive prices.

Soulard began operations in 2009 with its first location in the Soulard neighborhood of St. Louis. The single location soon spread into a chain, with most locations in Missouri. Founder Vedad Becirovic grew up in a multicultural setting but was heavily influenced by a kebab shop owned by a family friend. The international influence seems baked in to the Soulard menu; the company honors other cultures by creating unique offerings such as the Philly Gyro and the Döner kebab, a favorite in Germany.

Becirovic is sensitive to the perceived high cost of food and had this to say upon the opening:

“People come in, and we treat them like a guest, like they came to our house. People can spend that money at a lot of other restaurants, but they choose you.”

Soulard Gyro is located at 318E Mid Rivers Mall Drive. They are open for dine-in, takeout, and delivery service. Menus are just one type of useful product from Print shops.
