The City of St. Peters is hosting its annual tree lighting tradition this December.
The 2026 tree lighting is the 37th year the event has been held at the St. Peters City Hall. As in years past, there will be a countdown to the lighting of the tree. Two new activities have been added to this year’s schedule, including a Holly-Day Market where people can shop with local vendors and a Gingerbread House Contest.
Live music is provided by the Childbloom Guitar Program of St. Charles County along with Voices Only from Lindenwood University. They will perform holiday favorites before the lighting ceremony. After the tree is lit, families can enjoy treats and fun activities while the kids have their photos taken with Santa.
Visitors can browse the booths of local vendors and find unique gifts and handmade items for their holiday shopping at the Holly-Day Market. These vendors often use business card printing to connect with customers for future orders. The Children’s Market features Shop with a Cop, which lets children shop with a police officer to find gifts for their parents. While in the market, kids can write a letter to Santa and put it in Santa’s Mailbox, where they will also receive a return letter from Santa.
The event runs from 5:30 to 8:30 PM on December 4, 2026, at St. Peters City Hall, located at 1 Saint Peters Centre Blvd.
