Even though they no longer wear their boots or carry their rucks, the weight carried by veterans can still be heavy, and a local golf event will help to shoulder the burden.
Oakdale’s Oak Marsh Golf Club will be the venue for the Tee it Up fundraiser, and while the players enjoy themselves, they will be offering hand up to vets who need mental health support. The organizers explained in the event’s description that the Covid pandemic has been a tough go for many former military members, and the proceeds from the day will be used to fund a variety of programming.
On the day of the tournament, the players will be welcome to register in the morning, and the golf will open with a shotgun start at noon. It will follow a foursome scramble format, and 18 holes of golf, the use of a shared cart, dinner, and prizes are all include in the $125 ticket price. Donations and business sponsorships for the activity will be greatly appreciated.
Charitable events often involve raising money, but many also have a higher purpose. They can help to increase public awareness of a particular cause, and Print shops will be able to prepare a variety of informational materials to help with this.
Tee it Up for the Troops will be hitting the greens at Oak Marsh Golf Course on August 1. The registration kiosk will open at 10:30 am.
