Oakdale conference to investigate invasives

While the issue of invasive species and the impact they can have on land based ecosystems is familiar to many, they may not be aware they also affect aquatic environments. This will be the focus of a symposium on the agenda for the Oakdale area.

Those who attend the 2019 Minnesota Aquatic Invasive Species Research and Management Showcase will walk away with an enhanced knowledge of the impact these species can have, as well as the current and expected trends for their control. It will include presentations from experts in the field, breakout sessions and other activities, and the fee to register is $40.

Along with the presentations, the delegates at the event will be invited to take a seat for the luncheon, which will include opportunities for them to mingle with researchers and other experts in the field of invasive species control. A tour of the venue’s AIS Lab and Holding Facility will be on the agenda, and species such as zebra mussels, carp, spiny waterflea, starry stonewort, and fish diseases are just a few of the species that will be discussed.

An event like this can give those who work in the field a chance to learn about the latest developments. Premade conference kits that include promotional Pens, a note pad, and other Promotional Products can be prepared for an educational event like this, and printers can supply them.

September 18 has been set as the date for this environmentally themed symposium. It is set to be held at 1890 Buford Avenue in Saint Paul.
