An Oakdale area event will see families exploring the Maplewood Nature Center by the light of the March blue moon, and all ages are welcome to participate in this special occasion.
The winter moonlight hike will take those who come out along the trails at the center, and as they go, they will be able to learn more about the moon, its phases, and what exactly, a ‘blue moon’ is. If the sky is clear, a telescope will be set up so they can get a closer look at the Earth’s closest neighbor, and hot chocolate, and an assortment of treats will be served to help keep everyone warm.
The walk is set to take place even if it’s cloudy, and anyone who would like to be included is asked to register at least two days ahead of time. The fee to participate is $5 each, and everyone over the age of seven is welcome to take part in this family-friendly occasion. Flyer printing techniques can be used by an area printer to create a variety of marketing materials for this type of casual community function.
The Hike by the Light of the Blue Moon event is scheduled to begin at 7:00 pm on March 30. Anyone who would like to learn more or sign up to take part can do so by visiting the walk’s Patch listing.
