Oakdale is home to a diverse group of native flora that may be good additions to the garden, and an upcoming market will give local green thumbs easy access to these plants.
The species on offer in the Landscape Revival Native Plant Expo and Market will all be ones that can be found in the state, and they will have been grown on by area producers. The public will have a chance to discover how ornamental these plants may be, and also how to provide them with proper care.
Along with the opportunity to purchase some new additions for the garden, the function will give both newbie and experienced gardeners time to meet with representatives from a variety of environmentally focused exhibitors. These range from the Minnesota Dragonfly Society to Monarch Joint Venture and the Minnesota State Horticulture Society, and they may even be distributing ”green” Promotional Products to the crowd.
Community fairs and markets give the public a fun way to do some shopping, and a printer will be happy to help. It will be able to offer everything from premiums such as reusable cloth Totes to Business Cards, and these can include any graphics desired.
The Landscape Revival Native Plant Expo and Market has been planned for June 4. Oakdale Fire Station #1 will be providing space for the celebration.
