The Minnesota Orchestra, here in Minneapolis, will present multiple concerts throughout March.
Famous cellist Yo Yo Ma's program will include Scapino by Walton, Ballade B Coleridge-Taylor, Peter Grimes Four Sea interludes by Britten and Cello Concerto by Elgar.
Mr. Ma's performance will take place Tuesday, March 3rd from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
The orchestra will present Bruckner's Symphony No. 8 Friday March 6th at 8:00 pm and Saturday March 7th at 7:00 pm.
Sondergaard, Gerstein and Bernstein is slated for March 13th beginning at 8:00 pm and 14th at 7:00 pm. Famous pianist, Kirill Gerstein will play two concertos, Anes and Ravel's Piano Concerto for Left Hand.
On March 15th, Orchestra Hall will present a one-hour Symphonic Storytelling Family concert. The program will include Simon's Tales: A Folklore Symphony Motherboxx Connection, Smyth's The Boatswains' Mate overture, excerpts from Ravel's Mother Goose, pieces from Bernstein's West Side Story and John Henry-another piece from Simon's Tales: A Folklore Symphony.
A special concert for individuals with sensory sensitivities and autism will be treated to a 50-minute music experience where the audience can hear and see the instruments (in this cased two violins) up close and ask questions. A Spring Sensory-Friendly Concert will be in the Target Atrium at Orchestra Hall, Saturday, March 29th beginning at 11:00 am.
Orchestras like this must have their program brochure printing done weeks before their new seasons start.
