Many products in today’s marketplace are designed to be used and thrown away once they are broken, which means they end up in landfills and other disposal sites. A Brooklyn Park event hopes to change that.
Community members are encouraged to gather their broken small appliances, mobile devices, electronics, and even clothing and take them to the Gardenview Room of the Community Activity Center for the Fix-It Clinic, which will be held in February. Volunteers will guide them through the process of repairing their item, and while they work, the attendees will be learning skills they can use to fix other items at home.
The volunteers will teach the participants how to troubleshoot a problem they are having, as well as the ins and outs of dissembling, repairing, and then putting their items back together. This can save money, and since it helps to divert waste from landfills and other disposal sites, it is also an environmentally friendly option.
When the organizers of an event like this need to promote the activity, a printing services company will be able to offer many choices. They can also help their customers in selecting the products best suited to their needs and budget.
This chance for community members to learn some basic repair skills has been scheduled for February 8. No advance registration is required.
