Bloomington’s Police vs Fire hockey game is free to attend but will also serve as a fundraiser for a good cause at the Bloomington Ice Garden.
The exhibition match is being held with donations collected to assist Burnsville PD and Fire Department family members and colleagues of fallen police officers to travel to the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington D.C. on May 15, which is National Peace Officers Memorial Day. There are also plans to attend the Fallen Firefighter Memorial in Emmitsburg, Maryland, from May 3-4.
The hockey game will not only benefit the Honor Our Fallen Heroes fundraiser organized by the Minnesota Fraternal Order of Police Foundation but it will also serve as a means to raise money for a local food pantry, Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People (VEAP).
The VEAP food pantry has been helping families and individuals in need since 1973. As one of Minnesota’s largest food pantries, they assist about 100,000 people per month with their programs that include not only food but other basic needs and social services.
Fundraising events like these may choose to use flyer printing for low-cost promotion and brochure printing for informational pamphlets.
The Police vs Fire Hockey Game is happening at the Bloomington Ice Garden at 3600 West 98th St. on March 9 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
