The Hilton Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport in Bloomington will host a science fiction convention in March.
MarsCon is an annual event where science fiction lovers can meet fellow fans, participate in themed activities, and watch informative seminars. There are multiple activity venues inside the convention, such as The Lair, The Library, and The Lab. This year, there will be presentations on topics like sewing tips for novices, filmmaking, and writing advice. Other activities at the convention include anime-watching sessions, karaoke, and dance classes. Guests can also take part in a blood drive and charity auction.
The convention will also have the Back Room Bazaar, a marketplace with dealers who sell goods related to science fiction, fantasy, and anime. Businesses and vendors can also participate in MarsCon by purchasing space in the event’s program. A full-page advertisement will cost $85 for professionals and $60 for fan groups. Half-page spaces are $50 for pros and $30 for fan organizations. All ads in the program are printed in black and white.
MarsCon will be held from March 8 to March 10. Adults and teens can pay $70 to enter the convention, and children’s tickets will cost $35. Kids under six do not need to register for the event. Those who plan themed conventions such as this may use banner printing services to get more people interested in their cons.
