Celtic musicians to perform at Bloomington heritage center

Celtic music group SimpleGifts will be holding a concert this December at the Minnesota Masonic Heritage Center in Bloomington.

Christmastide with the Celtic Sounds of SimpleGifts is a musical event where listeners can enjoy traditional Christmas carols and hymns. The group avoids commercial and pop holiday songs in their performance, focusing on reimagining classics with their modern Old-World sound. The band uses a combination of three-part vocals and instruments like bagpipes and the violin to give the audience a magical performance.

SimpleGifts is a talented group of performers who have grown popular in the Upper Midwest. The band performs year-round, organizing concerts like their project The Young and the Rest. There have been several CDs that the group released, featuring covers of iconic Christmas songs such as Carol of the Bells and Silent Night. The winter performance will be held on December 16 and will start at 7:30 pm, though doors will open at 7:00 pm. The price of an adult ticket will be $38. Seniors and Heritage Society members will receive discounted admission for $34 instead. Ticket sales will end two hours before the event begins.
