Bloomington to organize themed fundraiser 5K

The CornerHouse organization will be holding a 5K in April at Normandale Lake in Bloomington to raise funds for children.

The CornerHouse Capes for Kids Superhero Fun Run/Walk is a themed event fighting child abuse by raising money to fund prevention services. People can create teams to fundraise for the activity, and the groups with the most pledge money will earn a prize. All participants in the event will get a backpack cape. No chip timers will be provided for the run/walk, though the organizers will have a timer at the finish line for anyone who wants to know their time.

CornerHouse is a children’s advocacy center that has been operating for 30 years and has impacted over 14,000 kids. The organization has training programs for prosecutors and law enforcement officers and offers support and therapeutic services to children and their caregivers. The group even holds a monthly speaker series addressing topics such as safety planning and keeping kids safe while online. Organizations with important programs like these can use poster printing to draw more attention to their presentations.

The fun run/walk will take place on Saturday, April 30 and will start at 11:00 am. Family teams can register for the event for $150, and individuals may attend for $35. Corporate groups can pay $300 to take part in the program. Prices for individual attendees will increase on the day of the event.
