The Hyland Lake Park Reserve will be hosting a competitive skiing event this January in Bloomington.
The Ski Rennet Race is a sporting event where participants can enter various skiing activities, such as the 26K Freestyle, 2K Para Nordic Cup, and 5K Fun Ski. Those who compete in the 26K Freestyle can win cash awards for becoming one of the top three male and female finishers, with first place receiving $250.
Skiers will be given ankle straps on the day of the race for chip-timed events. Competitors who lose or do not return their straps will be charged a replacement fee of $150. All ankle straps can be picked up at the Racer Village and returned in the finish line area.
People who register for the event by December 20 can receive their informational packets and swag before race day. There are multiple venues where skiers can get their packets, including the Hyland Lake Visitor Center, Gear West, and South Lake Cycle. Sporting events such as this may use Print shops to create directional Signs that help guide competitors.
The skiing competition will be held on January 9, 2021 from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm. Tickets to enter the 26K Freestyle will cost $90, while the 5K Fun Ski will be $35 per person. People who register before race day will receive a discount on the price of admission.
