Bloomington to host ski jumping event

The Minneapolis Ski Club will organize a ski jumping tournament in Bloomington at the Bush Lake Ski Jumps.

The Official 2023 Flyfest Ski Jumping Event is an extreme competition where talented skiers will fly up to 300 feet in the air to win cash and trophies. Guests will get to tour the venue during the date of the contest. Those who are spectating may watch the competitors from the slope’s non-groomed areas and alongside the landing slope. Firepits will be available at the tournament for warmth, and several food trucks will provide meals and snacks.

The Minneapolis Ski Club is an organization that aims to empower, support, and guide endurance athletes. The group also helps develop Nordic skiers of all abilities by using personalized coaching programs and training people at challenging locations. The ski club hosts many events, including the December Kids Camp and The Lollipop Run. Several experienced coaches work for the organization, like Kevin Brochman, Ben Alcorn, and Liv Myers.

The ski jumping competition will be held on Saturday, January 14. Doors to the contest will open at 5:00 pm, and the jumping tourney will take place at 6:00 pm. Those interested in watching skiers jump may pay $10 to become a spectator. Children 12 and under can attend the competition for free. People in charge of competitive sporting events like this can use poster printing to market the event to athletes.
