Bloomington symposium to teach students about acupuncture

Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington will be holding a virtual event in April to teach college students about important topics in acupuncture.

The 2021 Great River Symposium is a series of online courses that feature presentations by industry professionals in a safe environment. The speakers and lessons at the virtual workshop will discuss East and West medicine and blend ancient techniques with modern practices. Signing up for the symposium will help students earn 20 PDAs and get two safety and ethics hours.

This year, the featured speakers at the event include Sharon Weizenbaum, an expert on Chinese herbs, and Jill Blakeway, the author of Energy Medicine: The Science and Mystery of Healing. Many courses will be offered at the symposium, covering topics such as vibrational acupuncture, federal medicine, and how to use acupuncture to treat headaches. Colleges offering classes like these can advertise their upcoming courses on campus with poster printing.

The virtual symposium will be held from April 8th to April 10th. The early bird cost for practitioners will be $249 per student, though the deal will end on March 8th. Current students at the Northwestern Health Sciences University will only need to pay $25. Classes on the 8th will be held from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, while courses on the 9th and 10th will begin at 8:00 am.
