Bloomington race to benefit eye foundation

The Minnesota Eye Foundation will be holding a fundraising event in September at the Normandale Lake Bandshell in Bloomington.

Strides 4 Sight is an event where people can support a beneficial foundation while competing for awards. The race will take participants around Normandale Lake. There will be a 5K walk/run for adults, and a children’s fun run for kids aged 12 and younger. All guests who register for the fundraiser before August 26 will receive a unisex t-shirt. Kids who enter the fun run before September 9 will be given a free goodie bag.

The Minnesota Eye Foundation is a non-profit that provides vital eye care services for low-income communities and educates the community through outreach programs. The organization is helped by volunteer surgeons, nurses, and vendors. More than 370 surgeries for conditions such as cataracts and glaucoma have been performed by the group since it formed in 2005. Money from the foundation’s fundraisers helps pay for the cost of surgical supplies, postoperative care, and anesthesia.

The run/walk for the Minnesota Eye Foundation will be held on Sunday, September 18 and will begin at 8:00 am. Same-day registration will also be available at 8:00 am. The run/walk will cost $25, and the fun run will be $10. Foundations that hold charitable events such as this may give Promotional Products to participants to improve their brand awareness.
