The Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department will hold a family-friendly kite-themed fest in June.
The Kites & Bites Festival is a community program where children can have fun flying kites in a safe environment. The organizers of the event will provide free kites to those 18 and younger while supplies last. Attendees may also bring their own kites to the venue. This year’s festival will be held at the Valley View Playfields. Many food trucks will attend the event, including Taqueria el Patron, Sambusa Samosa, Hydration Shuttle, and Philicious Phillys. Groups that hold similar kid-friendly fests may use Print shops to make Signs for their events.
Entertainment will be provided by The Rockin’ Hollywoods, a band that has been holding live performances for over 50 years. The group was created in 1973 and mainly performs rock and roll music. The band has released several albums, such as Greaseland and Danceland. They were voted as Best Performing Artist during the 1987 Minnesota Music Awards and have worked with notable performers like Gary Puckett and Rick Nelson.
The Kites & Bites Festival will be on Saturday, June 8th from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Families do not have to pay to attend the program, and no registration is needed in advance. People can park along 3rd Avenue South and in the neighborhoods to the north of the Valley View Playfields.Get a Free Quote for Print Get a Free Quote for Signs
