The Girls in Politics Business Initiative will hold a camp in Bloomington where girls can learn basic business principles.
The Girls in Business Camp is an experience that teaches children ages 8-17 about the fundamentals of running a business. Campers will hear about topics such as marketing plans, financial plans, and investor pitches. Camp participants can also learn how to brand their own businesses with mission statements, logos, taglines, and marketing plans. Each student will become a CEO for their business and pitch their concepts to a group of mock investors.
The camp is part of The Girls in Business Initiative, which is a program that formed in 2020 by the Girls in Politics Initiative. The organization has created many classes for children, including Camp Congress for Girls, Civics 101 for Girls, and Introduction to Government for Girls. The for-profit company uses female entrepreneurs, business executives, and certified teachers in its programs to teach girls. The organization offers in-person business camps and webinars.
The business camp will be held on Saturday, August 31st from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The cost for girls to participate in the camp will be $120 per child. Financial aid for the program is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Companies that offer workshops for girls like this may use flyer printing to spread the word about their events.
