Bloomington conference to address playful healing

The Minnesota Association for Play Therapy will host an event in April at the Parkview Meeting + Event Center in Bloomington.

Playful Healing: Trauma-Informed Play Therapy for Children and Adolescents is a conference where mental health therapists can learn how to improve the way they help traumatized kids recover over time. The event teaches attendees about using play to recognize traumatic stress and its aftermath. The program will also show guests how to incorporate attuned movement, sound, and nature into a child’s therapy session.

The Minnesota Association for Play Therapy is an organization that wants to promote this type of therapy and provide networking opportunities to play therapists throughout the state. The president of the group is Ann Meeha, an experienced therapist who graduated from Bemidji State University. She is a professional speaker who has won awards like the Shining Star Award from the Minnesota Association for Play Therapy. Meeha has been working in the mental health field since 2008.

The play therapy conference will take place on Friday, April 5 from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. General admission to the event will cost therapists $175, and members of the Minnesota Association for Play Therapy can pay $125 to attend. Organizations in charge of similar therapy conferences can use brochure printing to create programs for guests and showcase their sponsors.
