Normandy Community College in Bloomington will be organizing a course in July that covers essential information about restorative dental procedures.
The Restorative Functions class is a program where aspiring dentists can learn about dental procedures such as installing glass ionomers and stainless steel crowns. During the course, students will place, contour, and adjust composite resin restorations and amalgam in a laboratory and clinical setting. The class will be held face-to-face to help participants develop their psychomotor skills and professional judgment.
The second portion of the program will have students provide restorative care to 20 different patients under the supervision of a professional dentist. The course instructor will evaluate the trainee’s clinical satisfactory performance in two of the four procedures covered during the program. The second part of the class is only required for students who desire an RF credential. Colleges with courses like this can utilize brochure printing to create information packets for students.
The program will begin on July 14 and will be completed on July 30. The cost of the first course is $2,500, and the fee for the second part of the program is $400. The price of the class will include the required textbook and lunch breaks. Sessions will run from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. There will also be two refreshment breaks held during each class.
