The Medalist Concert Band will be performing at the Bloomington Center for the Arts in Minnesota this March in honor of their 50th anniversary.
The Medalist Concert Band is a group of volunteers consisting of 70 talented musicians from the Twin-Cities area. The concert will feature several iconic songs taken from the band’s previous performances, paying homage to the history of the Medalist Concert Band since being founded in 1968. There will even be a new original song the band plans to debut during the celebration.
Jerry Luckhardt is the current conductor and artistic director of the band and will be leading the performance the night of the event. The Medalist Concert Band has received praise from the National Band Association in the past and won the John Philip Sousa Foundation’s Sudler Silver Scroll Award in 1996. There have been over 850 performances by the group, playing at special events such as the Music Educators National Conference and the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic.
The concert will be performed on March 3 starting at 4:00 pm. Tickets for the event will cost $17 for adults and $15 for seniors and students. There is a Mailing list available where the group has utilized printing services to send information directly to their fans for those interested in learning more about the band.
