Sylvan Lake creatives who want to add a unique piece of autumn decor to their homes are in luck, as a fused glass workshop is opening near town.
The Autumn Flowers Fused Glass Workshop is coming to neighboring Waterford next month, with students who sign up learning the steps and techniques to make an autumn flower suncatcher. The experience will be led by Laurie of Kiss My Glass, an experienced glass artist. Guests can anticipate a welcoming and upbeat learning environment.
Artists will get to add the color to the round glass base, which will measure six inches across. The hanging chain will be included with the suncatcher to help students place them in their homes after the class. All crafting materials will be included with the registration cost. Instructions printed on high-quality paper provides a way for printing services to add value to learning opportunities like this.
Laurie will demonstrate the proper glass-cutting techniques, helping artists learn how to use each tool. No experience is necessary, and the class is open to adults of all ages. Covered drinks are also allowed in the classroom and closed-toed shoes are recommended.
My New Favorite Thing, located at 5221 Highland Road in nearby Waterford, will host the fused glass workshop. It opens at 6:15 pm on Friday, September 25. Class enrollment is open online and costs $45 per student.
