Annual tea supports local woman-owned businesses

Women from the Sylvan Lake area will be gathering next month for an annual tea with the goal of inspiring the next generation of women business owners.

The Global Michigan Women’s Chamber of Commerce Annual Tea has opened online registration for interested parties in the Sylvan Lake area who wish to celebrate successful women-owned businesses. Attendees will get to connect and engage with aspiring entrepreneurs and established business owners while finding inspiration in their accomplishments.

Guests will enjoy an afternoon of tea that is dripping in sophistication and elegance, with Hilary Golston of FOX 2 playing the role of emcee. The environment will be tranquil, with the agenda focusing on the accomplishments of remarkable women in the area. Organizers can turn to brochure printing to produce documents that share information about the businesses being recognized at such events with attendees.

The honourees at this year’s tea include Immaculee Ilibagiza, an author and motivational speaker, and Mary Sheffield, the Mayor of Detroit. Sheffield will receive the “Reaching for the Stars” Award, while Ilibagiza will receive the “International Women of Courage” Award. A presentation of youth scholarships will cap off the afternoon tea.

Pine Lake Country Club in nearby West Bloomfield will be the host venue for this year’s tea, which is set for Saturday, April 18th, from 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Tickets can be purchased online for $120 per person.
