A day out on the links is being planned for the Sylvan Lake area next month, and golf enthusiasts wanting to help the community are invited to register.
The 35th Annual Variety Kovan Golf Classic will start in a few weeks, returning to the golf venue where the original event began. The event will feature a double shotgun start, with golfers starting at 7:45 AM or 12:30 PM, depending on preferences. The stage will be set for a leisurely morning or afternoon of golf.
Registered guests will enjoy access to a nutritious breakfast, lunch, and dinner, along with refreshing beverages to remain hydrated in the summer temperatures. Raffles will also be held, and prizes will be given to the winners throughout the golf classic. Money raised by the golf event will go toward helping children with physical and cognitive challenges in the local community. The money will be dispersed to the Scott Kovan Fund at the University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital. Interested parties can also purchase dinner tickets to support the cause.
The Tam-O-Shanter Country Club will host the golf tournament on Monday, June 17. Registration begins at 7:00 AM for the morning session. Tickets are available online, starting at $150 per registered golfer.
