Riverfront festival planned for Lansing outdoor enthusiasts

In July, Lansing 5:01 will host The Dam Jam 2021, a three-day outdoor festival celebrating the riverfront in Old Town Lansing.

Lansing 5:01 is an initiative created by a group of young professionals to attract young talent to the city by highlighting Lansing’s unique amenities and social scene. Hosting the Dam Jam 2021 is part of this initiative by showcasing the area’s outdoor activities and historic riverfront.

The three-day event will take place along the Lansing River Trail at the Brenke Fish Ladder, a structure constructed to help fish find safe passage through the dam up the Grand River. The Brenke Fish Ladder will be the event’s home base, where there will be food, drink, and live music from local bands for festivalgoers to enjoy.

Whether on foot, by kayak, or by bike, attendees will also be able to explore the Lansing River Trail, which is over 20 miles long and runs from Waverly Road to Old Town - a historic artisan village offering guests plenty of shopping and eating spots.

The Dam Jam 2021 is scheduled for July 15 through July 17. There is no entrance fee, but guests can register on Lansing 5:01’s website.

For outdoor festivals like this, organizers wanting to decorate the venue may consider using banner printing services from local area Print shops.
