In February, AIS Construction Equipment will be hosting its Slurry Pump School for any Lansing workers interested in improving their understanding of slurry pump types and functionality.
AIS Construction Equipment is a family-owned heavy equipment company that has been in operation for 50 years. Besides supplying construction equipment, it also hosts classes related to the construction field. Its upcoming slurry pump class will be a one-day course delving into the inner workings of slurry pumps, which are a type of pump that contains a mixture of water-like fluid and pulverized solids called a slurry. A slurry pump is a convenient method of transporting solids in bulk, helpful in fields such as mining, steel processing, and foundries.
William C. Pierce from Schurco Pumps will instruct the class and guide students through slurry pump functionality and applicability. Physical examples of the different types of pumps will be available for students to learn from. For educational events such as this, organizers may require the aid of Stationery printers to produce informative Brochures for student use.
The Slurry Pump School is scheduled for Wednesday, February 3, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm at AIS Construction Equipment on 3600 North Grand River Avenue. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Tickets are $50 and will be available for purchase on Eventbrite.com. Those with questions can contact Shawn Omara at 517-206-4450 or somara@aisequip.com.
