This October the Crim Mindfulness Initiative will host an event titled “Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute (SIYI)” and residents of Grand Blanc may want to attend.
This two-day executive development course will focus on using mindfulness to improve leadership abilities. The program is being facilitated by Marie Jones-Watts and LaShonda Jack who are both affiliated with the Crim Mindfulness Initiative.
Originally tested and developed at Google, the SIYI program has reached over 150 cities in more than 50 countries. It integrates neuroscience, psychology, and business insights to teach practical leadership skills and emotional control. Participants will learn strategies to handle change, build resilience, and foster growth, all while reducing stress, enhancing focus, improving performance, and strengthening interpersonal relationships.
As part of the broader Mindful Cities Initiative, this event is one of multiple efforts aimed at fostering a more resilient and mindful community in Genesee County.
The standard cost for the course is $650, but scholarships are being provided. Genesee County citizens can register for $300, educators and nonprofit workers for $150, and Flint locals and staff can attend for free.
Print shops can be useful in providing attendees with printed material at events such as this one.
The event will be held in person at the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, located at1939 Howard Ave, Flint, MI. The course will take place from October 17th through 18th, it will run from 9 am to 4:30 pm each day.
