Time to get creative for a cause in Clawson

Clawson’s amateur artists are invited to put brush to bowl in an event that can help make sure no one in the community has to go hungry.

A project has been undertaken in the city that will give the public a tangible way to help those who are living with food insecurity. For a donation of $10.00, the participants can decorate a bowl in any way they wish, and these will then be prepped for sale as part of a fundraiser that will take place in March.

The paints, bowls and brushes needed for the task will be supplied, and lunch will be available for purchase as well. Once the dishes are complete, they will be collected, glazed and fired, and they will then be added to the stock that will be used during the Empty Bowls Detroit function that will be held in March.

The monies that are raised during this hands on fundraiser will be passed along to the food programs operated by Cass Community Social Services. A thank you note for the recipient can be tucked into each bowl prepared as part of this sort of activity, and these can be printed ahead of time by local Print shops.

This opportunity for Clawson residents to lend a hand to those in need and have fun doing so will be offered on January 19. The location for the function will be 529 Hendrie Road.
