What's Happening in Clawson, MI…

National Parks and Recreation Month will soon be celebrated all across the country, and in Clawson, it means an open house event is on the way.

The city's own Recreation and Senior Services Department has an evening of fun in the works that will give the public an opportunity to discover what it has to offer. Admission will be free, and everyone who comes out should be prepared to enjoy getting active.

Hosted at Hunter Community Center, the function will feature mini fitness class demonstrations as well as yoga and karate demos, and a wide assortment of community groups will be setting up shop. Everyone can visit the booths and displays, meet staff and volunteers, and find out what activities may be good fit for their interests and lifestyle. The kids can try their hand at the outdoor games, and inflatables will be on site.

To help keep the crowd fed, the organizers have invited local mobile vendors to participate. Food truck signage and other vehicle wraps can be prepared and installed by a printing services company that supplies options for in-house graphic design work.

Monday, July 20 will see Clawson congregate for its Parks & Recreation Month Open House event. It will run from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Hunter Community Center, located at 509 Fisher Court. Advanced registration is not required.
