Clawson welcome to sit in on Shakespeare play

A Clawson area theater company will be putting its own take on a classic Shakespearean comedy, and tickets are available now for the occasion.

‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, which is all about love, magic and mishaps, will be performed by Detroit Mercy Theatre Company, and it will be the group’s first stab at Shakespeare in almost 10 years. The curtain will go up for the first time for the play at the end of January, and it will continue throughout the first week of February.

In an effort to make the play as accessible to as many community members as possible, there will be several special activities planned. These range from a discussion of Shakespeare in the context of today’s culture, to a cast party, and a special night has been reserved for Detroit Mercy's staff, faculty, and students.
