Clawson Library book club focuses on self-help

The Blair Memorial Library serves as a community hub for Clawson, and one of its newest offerings will be focused on the art of self-care.

The Library’s Self-Help Book club will be run once a month, and the facilitator will be Cindy LaFerle, who is a locally based journalist. Those interested may attend all three of the scheduled meetings or any of the series that catches their interest.

The participants in the program will each be asked to read the selected book before the meeting so they are ready to review and discuss their opinions on its content. There will be a discussion of the key takeaways from the publication, and enrolment in each session is limited to 12 attendees. Advance registration is mandatory, and this will help the organizers in planning the activity. The series runs from mid-September until late November.

Libraries often go beyond just Books, offering a variety of learning opportunities and other programming. Print shops that offers in-house Graphic Design Services and binding can prepare program guides and other materials that keep the public informed about what’s on offer.

The first meeting of the Self-Help Book Club will be held on September 22nd at The Blair Memorial Library, and registration opens on August 25th. The City of Clawson's website provides more information about the subsequent meeting and registration dates.
