Clawson event planned with the geek in mind

This May, the Clawson area will be the place to be for geeks of all kinds, whether they are gamers, coders, into cosplay, or just like having fun with others who share their interest. Everyone will be welcomed and respected, and it promises to be a blast.

The event, which had been dubbed ‘Penguicon’, is entirely volunteer run. It will take place over one weekend, but the organizers noted it takes an entire year to plan.

Hackers, anime buffs, open source coders, fans of science fiction, and fans of all other Forms of geekery are expected to come to the convention, and the fee to register starts at $25. There will be an assortment of panels and other presentations, and spaces are still open for anyone who would be interested in addressing the crowd.

The planners of Penguicon are seeking volunteers to help make the event as great as possible. There are many different positions and tasks, and more information can be obtained by contacting volunteers@penguicon.org. Local Print shops can lend a hand for an event like this, and can be counted on to supply Banners, volunteer T-Shirts, swag, marketing items, and many other Promotional Products.

This opportunity for members of the public to let loose their inner nerd will begin on May 3. It will be set up in The Westin Southfield District in Southfield.
