Clawson class to introduce working with molten glass

The Day of the Dead celebrates the connection between this world and the next, and a Clawson area glass studio will be marking the occasion by offering a special class.

The workshop planned by Epiphany Studios in Pontiac will honor the memory of loved ones or even a special furry friend by preparing glass hearts. They can be prepared in a variety of colors, and will be ready for pickup a week after the event.

The instructor for the day will walk the attendees through the steps of preparing their piece, and a live demonstration will take place. Each participant will be able to watch the glass melt, turn the glass, and even spend some time at the blowing bench. If they wish, they can add some ashes from a loved one or pet to their heart, making it a memorial they can keep for a long time to come.

An introductory crafting class may be fun for those who get involved, perhaps sparking their interest to learn even more. Stationery printers will be able to use graphic arts techniques to prepare customized Forms for an activity, and these may include its Logo Design.

Epiphany Studios will be hosting this introduction to working with molten glass on November 5. The registrants are asked to reserve at least five hours for the activity.
