Clawson is revving up for the return of a car show that will give all sorts of vehicles a moment in the sun.
The Clawson Lions Club has made arrangements for the return of its “Down on Main Street'' vehicle show, which will be marking its 24th year. The registration kiosk will open in the early morning, and trophies will be presented to the ones deemed to be the top entries.
This activity, which will be held rain or shine, will see a portion of Main Street closed off so the public can stroll along and view the cars, trucks, campers, motorcycles, and other entries. The judges and special guests will select the winners, and a vendor area will be set up as well. Dash plaques will be available to the participants for as long as supplies last, and there will be special veteran, US Military Academy (USMA), and memorial awards distributed.
The proceeds from the occasion will be used to support various community service projects funded by the Clawson Lions Club. A brochure printing company will be able to supply an event with pamphlets and other materials that provide details about how the funds raised during an activity will be utilized.
The 24th annual “Down on Main Street” car show is on the agenda for August 11. The registration kiosk will open at 8:00 am, and the judging will begin at 9:00 am.
