Freshly prepared pesto can be the perfect accompaniment to a dish of pasta, and an upcoming class will teach Clawson residents how to prepare this sauce in their own kitchen.
Goldner Walsh Garden and Home will be giving members of the public an opportunity to discover the secrets of successfully crafting pesto, and they will also learn how to preserve it so it can be stored without spoiling. Advance registration is required to secure a spot, and tickets are $10.00 each.
During the class, the facilitator, Jean Roman, will share her cookery expertise. The recipe she will teach will be quite simple, and she will also offer advice for plant care so the participants can continue to harvest from their basil plants for as long as possible. The audience will be invited to do some taste testing, and if they wish, they can purchase a copy of Roman’s cookbook at a special price.
A cookery class can be a lot of fun, and it also teaches valuable skills. Recipe cards for such classes can be prepared by local Stationery printers, and they can even be laminated so they can be wiped clean in case of kitchen spills.
The Easy & Delicious Pesto Sauce Workshop will be on offer on September 9th. It will take place at 559 Orchard Lake Road in Pontiac.
