A Clawson area community farm is offering a springtime camp that that will use hands-on activities to introduce youngsters to the STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics) subjects, and it will also give them a chance to see how they can find a practical application for these in the real world.
This April, Bowers Community Farm will be giving area students a chance to find out where their food comes from. They will also spend time in the garden and help out with daily chores, and there will be lots of interactions between them and the animals who call the farm home.
The campers will be encouraged to make discoveries as they explore the world of agriculture, and the goal is for them to have so much fun, they will barely even realize they are learning. Each day will have its own theme, and the participants will have many opportunities to learn new skills, make new friends, and develop a better understanding of the world around them.
Being part of an activity like this can be an experience the campers will long remember. A printer can craft T-Shirts for the kids that have been printed with the camp’s Logo Design, and they can keep these as a souvenir of the fun time they had.
Bowers Community Farm has invited all area kids to join in this hands-on agricultural event. It will run from April 6 until 10, and spaces are expected to be reserved quickly.
