Saco to host festival at the waterfront

Camp Ellis HarborFest 2023 will be returning to Saco next month.

Sponsored by the city of Saco, the two-day event is a community festival that celebrates the working waterfront and the efforts to rebuild the beach at Camp Ellis. There will also be great food and fun for the entire family.

Organizers of such special events often look to local Print shops to help promote them and attract as many people as possible to the festivities.

HarborFest will kick off on a Saturday night with live music at Huot’s from 6:00 to 9:30 pm, followed by fireworks on the river at 9:30 pm. People can view the fireworks from a boat, which departs from the dock at 8:00 and is a two-hour ride.

The next day there will be the Blessing of the Boats at 12:15 pm with performances on the stage beginning at 9:30 pm and lasting until 4:00 pm. Among the performers will be The Academy of Dance, the Twin-City Theater Academy Singers, and the Collective Motion Arts Center.

Boat tours of Saco Bay lasting one and a half hours will also be offered, leaving the dock at 10:00 am, 12:00 noon, and 2:00 pm. Activities for kids will be available all day and include a Lobster Launch Game, face painting, hula hooping, balloon twisters, a crab derby, and a touch-a-shark activity.

HarborFest will take place Saturday, August 12 and Sunday, August 13.
