The open house of the Saco Fire Department will be held next month, and promises to be a day of education, exploration, and fun.
Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the Central Sation of the Fire Department on North Street, enjoy some food cooked in the firehouse style, and meet new and familiar people.
This event is held every year by the Saco Fire Department to meet the members of the community and promote an understanding of the work carried out by the department on a daily basis and throughout the year. Attendees will learn about the everyday life of the EMS providers and the firefighters, look at and touch the equipment that is used, and create connections with the first responders serving the town.
Demonstrations will be held throughout the day and include a live car cutting vehicle extrication demonstration and CPR demonstrations and tours of fire engines and ambulances. Attendees will also be able to try on rescue gear, get car seat safety inspections, and learn about smoke house escape plans. There will be prizes and activities for the children.
Flyer printing is often used to promote such special events that enable residents of a town to engage with their first responders and tour their building.
This open house will be held on Saturday May 10 from 9:00 a.m. to noon.
