Saco bank to hold shredding event

A free drive-thru shredding event will be held by the Saco & Biddeford Savings Bank later this week at its branch on Route 111 in Biddeford.

Businesses and members of the community are encouraged to bring up to two boxes of documents they want to be shredded. This can include old invoices and bills, cancelled checks, mortgage and loan information, medical records, and similar documents. Without A Trace Mobile Shredding will be providing the shredding services. Staff from the bank will be on hand to help with the disposing of shredded material. The bank is also accepting non-perishable food items that will be given to the Biddeford Food Pantry.

Organizers of such events may look to their local print shops to get help with the printing of posters and other promotional materials that advertise such events in an area.

The Saco & Biddeford Savings Bank is the oldest bank in Maine. In addition to serving the needs of its customers, it has contributed over $4.7 million to organizations in the area in the last 10 years.

The shredding event will be held from 8:00 a.m. until noon or until the truck is full on Saturday September 24. It will take place in the parking lot next to Michael’s Craft Store in Biddeford. All members of the community are invited to attend.
