Saco bank makes major donation for building expansion

The Saco and Biddeford Savings Institution (SBSI) has donated $50,000 to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Maine (RMHC Maine) to enable the organization toexpand its Portland House.

This will add 15 rooms to the building and provide 5,475 more nights for families who have children in the hospital. Once RMHC Maine has completed the expansion, there will be more space to provide a home away from home for families whose children are receiving medical care, and for larger families.

Professional brochure printing is often used to provide more information for families about such facilities and their accommodations.

Alicia Milne, Development Director for RMHC Maine, said that this donation is an important contribution towards the expansion and will enable families in Maine to be close to their children during their care. President and CEO of SBSI, Bob Quentin, added that his institution is proud of its support for RMHC Maine, and that building this addition to help alleviate some of the financial burden and emotional stress which families undergo during such times.

The addition to the facility is expected to open later this year. Its completion will correspond to the 25th anniversary of Portland House of RMHC Maine’s opening in 1995. RMHC Maine is looking to the community for additional to help mark this milestone.
