A Town Suites Hotel and indoor waterpark to be called Saco Surf āNā Slide is being proposed by Northern Hospitality Holdings LLC.
This project would be on North Street in Saco next to the Ramada Inn. Banner printing is often used at such sites to inform the public of proposed developments like this.
The water park would be in its own building, spanning 55,000 square feet and three stories tall. Spokesperson for Northern Hospitality Holdings LLC, Tim Michaud, of Terradyn Consultants, said that the banquet hall of the Ramada Inn would be torn down to make room for the waterpark.
Michaud added that the Town Suites Hotel will be five stories in height and offer 139 rooms. It will have a restaurant and extended stay suites. He also said the Ramada Inn has recently been renovated and will remain in place.
Michaud said this is a large project, so will be built in stages. First, the hotel will be constructed, followed by the waterpark, which itself will be built in two phases. Guests of the two hotels will be the primary users of the waterpark, with places available for the public if the waterpark is not full.
Tracey Desjardins, Saco Economic Development Director, expressed her excitement about the proposed project as it will become a destination for residents of the state who often go to Massachusetts or New Hampshire for these activities.
The water park is expected to open sometime in 2025.
