Peace Behavioral Health in Saco is now open, and was recently welcomed into the community with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Peace Behavioral Health was founded by Nicolas Sikaczowski, a psychiatrist, and his wife, Ashley Shaw, a psychologist. The practice is on Main Street on the third floor of what was once a mill building. The office has original woodwork and exposed brick, giving it a welcoming feel.
Both psychological and psychiatric health services are provided by Peace Behavioral Health through both telehealth and in-person. The practice focuses on individualized, evidence-based care. Shaw said that the practice uses a collaborative approach and provide unrushed service. It prides itself on quickly responding to all messages and phone calls from patients. The goal is to provide the necessary tools for patients so that they can live their best possible life.
Such new practices in town can benefit from flyer printing to offer more details about services provided, hours open, and practitioners.
The couple went to graduate school in Miami, which is where they met. They lived in Florida for 10 years. Sikaczowski was completing a rotation at Maine Medical Center while Shaw was working at an internship in Boston. Shaw said they fell in love with Maine and decided to move to the state to make the most of its values, seasons, and the lifestyle.
Sikaczowski and Shaw say their services are in great demand and they are looking to expand their team.
