Local hospice receives funding from Saco bank

A donation of $50,000 has been made to the Gosnell House Sustainability Project of the Hospice of Southern Maine by Saco & Biddeford Savings Bank.

These funds will be used to support the ongoing efforts of the project to enhance the energy efficiency and sustainability of the Gosnell House in Scarborough. The Gosnell House has been providing empathic end-of-life care for almost 20 years.

News of such donations and how they will be used to benefit the community is often made known with flyer printing.

Saco & Biddeford Savings has recognized the importance of this facility and made it a priority to invest in its efforts that positively impact the community. Funds provided by the bank will be used to create several environmentally friendly measures, such as exterior LED lighting and installation of energy-efficient cooling and heating systems.

Member of the board of Hospice of Southern Maine and President of Saco & Biddeford Savings, Mark Jones, said the bank is dedicated to giving back to the community it serves. He expressed his honor on behalf of the bank in supporting the sustainability project of the Gosnell House, as well as creating a more ecologically friendly environment for patients, their families, and the staff.
